Prepare a Practice Continuation Agreement
The AICPA reports that an overwhelming majority of Baby Boomer CPA’s have not adequately planned for their retirement or exit strategy from their firm.  While considering your succession, it is also important to have a practice continuation agreement in place. Think of it as a survival kit for your practice. In the event of death or temporary or permanent disability, a practice continuation agreement helps protect your practice, the business interests of your clients and the financial interests of you and your family. It can also be used as a vehicle for retirement.

Take Care of Your Clients
Your clients are an important part of your firm’s success going forward, and critical to ensure you obtain a fair buyout of your practice. We work with you to help ensure a smooth transition from one relationship manager to the next as owners retire. Start by putting client transition strategies and processes in place. We are talking about such details as how and when clients will be transitioned and the communication that should take place between the partners and the clients during the handoff.

ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP

The intern will support the tax department through tax return processing and preparation, and will also be exposed to many other firm projects and work assignments. These projects may include going in the field on audit jobs, word processing for the audit department, assisting with marketing projects, client bookkeeping support and various clerical duties as needed. It is our intent that you gain as much experience as possible in all areas of a public accounting firm.

STAFF TAX ACCOUNTANT

The Staff Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing various federal and state tax returns for businesses and individuals, including, but not limited to, Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S. This individual also assists with tax research and year-end planning.

STAFF AUDITOR

One to three years’ audit experience in the commercial, governmental, non-profit sectors or benefit plan audit experience a plus; public accounting and tax experience preferred but not required.
