The Audit Senior leads and manages multiple operations of the audit practice area and delivers quality services that increase the firm’s reputation. They are responsible for overseeing internal operating controls, processes, and practices, and the Audit Senior may also recommend changes and enhancements to existing policies and controls to make sure they are current, adequate, functional and utilized in accordance with standards established by the government and the company. The ideal candidate also looks for ways to grow the business and reach new clients. Job Description:

  1. Helps lead the engagement planning process
  2. Performs detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances, prepares and adjusts work papers from clients’ trial balance
  3. Leads accounting staff, coordinates workflow and advances team-wide performance
  4. Identifies potential management letter comments, identifies business process risks and develops testing methodologies to evaluate the adequacy of controls.
  5. Motivates, trains and empowers audit department staff.
  6. Assists with more complicated segments of audit and accounting engagements
  7. Assumes full responsibility (under supervision) for preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements
  8. Drafts audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures
  9. Effectively manages multiple clients, budgets, and production goals without last-minute stress in accordance with skills and schedules.
  10. Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates knowledge of the clients’ businesses.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and licensed CPA, or CPA eligible and motivated to sit for the exam
  • Well-rounded knowledge of GAAP, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book) and Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards (GAGAS) is a plus

The Tax Senior is responsible for performing complex tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning services to a variety of clients across many industries.
